Creation of the data movement model requires a senior
analyst with extensive systems experience.

The following activities are required during requirements analysis:
- A logical data movement model is created. This
should be based on the conceptual
data movement model created as part of the information management
framework;
- A logical source to target mapping document is
created. This should map all source data to the logical data model and
should define business data transformation rules and data quality
requirements;
- Data quality analysis is required during
requirements analysis and a data profile showing data
characteristics is produced.
What
qualifications are required for data analyst jobs?
Data
analysts need a good knowledge of source system application design,
data quality analysis techniques and data mapping experience. They
typically have experience as a computer systems analyst or business
systems analyst working in a data-warehousing environment.
What are
salaries expectations?
Experienced data analysts, with 5-7 years of related experience, should
expect to earn $65,000-75,000.
What are
contract employee salary expectations?
Contract employees can expect to earn anywhere from $60 to $80 per
hour. However, this is the amount that is paid to a staffing
company. The amount the contract employee receives will depend upon the
fee demanded by the resource-staffing firm.
Can this
work be done part time?
This role is required 100% of the time during requirements analysis and
much of the work can be performed remote
and/or with telecommuting.
It may not be necessary to have an analyst assigned full time during
the development and quality assurance testing phases, however, their
experience can provide needed help and it is important that they be
readily available.
